About Frank Caruso as a Musician

Frank Caruso networks with the top musicians in the Chicago area. A natural prodigy, he has played piano professionally since he was 12 years old. He studied at DePaul University, and served in the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C. While still in the service, he performed at the State Department dinner for the first astronauts to land on the moon. Frank Caruso was a featured performer at the White House Birthday Party for Duke Ellington, and has played for President Nixon, President Clinton, Vice President Gore, and Senator John McCain.

   

Over the years, Frank Caruso has provided music for thousands of private and public events, and appeared with many famous artists. Frank Caruso performed with Luciano Pavarotti in concert at the United Center. He has appeared with other music legends like Henri Mancini, Louie Bellson, Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel, Maynard Ferguson, and the Count Basie Or­chestra. He has also been a featured performer at celebrity events, like the Michael Jordan Golf Tournament.

Frank Caruso has played twice with the Chicago Sym­phony at Ravinia for Jazz/Pop concerts and has appeared with showbiz greats like Bob Hope, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Red Skelton, Suzanne Sommers, Joan Rivers, Rich Little, and Rosemary Clooney.

Frank Caruso has appeared at the Valparaiso Jazz Festival, the Chicago Jazz Festival, and the Elkhart Jazz Festival, and also performed in popular theatre productions, like “Lord of the Rings.” He has collaborated with many top musicians for concerts at colleges and universities.

In addition to his artistry on multiple keyboard instruments, Frank Caruso has served as music contractor and/or conductor for many recordings and live shows with celebrities like Greta Pope, Bill Acosta, Scott Record, and Bernadette Peters. Caruso has created music for many commercials on radio and television, and composed some or all of the music on his solo album, Freefall; the jazz quintets, Mango Tango and Heart of the City; and his latest release, Songs From the Kingdom of Jazz.
